Picking out the perfect panty isn't as easy as it used to be. There are so many panty styles and fabrics to choose from that it really depends on what you like and what you need. The most important factor is knowing what size you are. Don't assume that you wear the same size panty as your pant size. Choosing the wrong panty will definitely make you suffer through the day. There is nothing worse than having your panties riding up, falling down or giving you a wedgie all day. Not to mention a negative attention getter. This can all be avoided by fitting yourself with the appropriate size panty.
This is how you can accomplish choosing the right size panty....
- Measure your waist . Put the tape measure snuggly around you waist without causing any bulging. Don't cause any cinching that could throw off the measurement. Be sure to use the natural indentation at your hip and waist. If you are having a hard time finding this curve, then bend to the side. This will allow you to see where the crease is to measure from. Write down this number and mark it as you waist measurement. This will become very important depending on what type of panty you are buying. Some panties are hip huggers while others have elastic on the waistline. It truly all depends on the panty style you buy and what you find most appealing and comfortable.
- The next step is to measure your hips. Wrap the tape measure around your hips in their fullest area. Make sure that the tape measure is straight and level, by using a mirror or asking a friend to help. Also, the tape measure must be parallel with the floor and snug, but no so snug that it causes bulges. Write down this number and mark it as your hip measurement.
- As an example: if your waist measures 28 and your hips 37, then your panty size will be a size 6 or size medium depending on the style. Usually panty sizes small, medium, and large have a range of 2 to 3 number sizes. Therefore, if you wear size 6 panty, some styles may include sizes 5, 6 and 7 as a range. Remember that a 5, 6, or 7 doesn't mean your regular pant size this is exclusive to your panty size.
The most crucial part of wearing a panty is comfort. Most importantly at the crotch. If the panty doesn't fit your crotch right, you will know right away and you won't wear those panties again no matter what. The crotch of the panty should fit just right against your body and cover the entire area. It shouldn't bunch up in the front or the back and it should be tight. For panties with horizontal crotch seams, they should be visible at the front of the panty and not slip back. If the open end of the seam is in the front, make sure you do not have the panty on backwards. Otherwise if the seam moves back the panty will bunch up making it uncomfortable. The waistband should be snug, but not tight, around your waist or hips depending on the style of panties you buy. If the panty rolls up or bunches a lot, then try a smaller size. You will know when the panty fits properly because the band will stay in place as you move around. For all panties, except thongs and string bikinis, the leg band should not leave marks, yet feel snug and secure.
